Here we go:
Dollars spent: ~$600 for entire wing setup, ~$200 for splitter and air dam
Hours spent: ~ 3 weeks of hand fitting each element. I can only work on the car 1-2 hours at a time every other day.
How effective: 3 BIG improvement
Materials used: Nine Lives Racing 64" aluminum ****, 3/8 Aluminum plate uprights, .090 aluminum end plates, 1/2" Birch plywood splitter, 1" Steel square tube splitter frame, 0.125" HDPE plastic roll airdam.
Bracket location: Wing uprights mount to inside of trunk rain channel. Splitter mounts to front bumper support (welded tabs) and hooks into the subframe in the back.
Tracks tested on: Autobahn CC (Joliet, IL)
Race/TT class built for: GridLife Street Mod RWD
I will be putting more documentation on the build process in my build thread.

Thoughts from those of you using duckbill spoilers in addition to your wings? Noticeable changes/ability to fine tune? I'm trying to throw the kitchen sink at the back of the car at this point to get more rear downforce with the COT wing. I have already located it as far back as my classing allows, and have enough scrap left over for a freebie attempt, just wondering if its worth while, even if from a drag perspective. Being an RX7, I already have the sloped rear glass. Idea would be to double the duck bill as extra lateral support for the wing stands.

Spoilers slow the airflow over the surface immediately preceding them, thereby reducing the lift. Your wing needs faster airflow beneath it than above it to produce downforce. I believe the two won't interfere with each other if there is sufficient height distance between them. You may possibly need to raise the wing. Experimentation will bear it out.

I do love this thread. I keep coming back to it and fantasizing about adding that sort of kit.
I have competition car aerodynamics and have read it multiple times (whether it is in my head is another thing). Here we have covered several things with Ryan giving some more specific information from his experience but two things have not been discussed much.
Could the boot lid be used as a flow guidance like a two element wing allowing a higher chord but with less drag?
Is top down rear downforce possible without going the full bore method?
As I believed diffuser driving air should match direction and cause as little flow change and separation as possible.
So would that mean an exhaust popping through the Lotus style is working but not effective.
If the exhaust was customised to exit though the slight at the top instead with the original hole and angled up some what. That should drive the diffuser with exhaust gases as well as a bit of bernoulli action on the transmission tunnel air.
Like on Ryans car the NACA ducts channeling air to the diff and tunnel would also benefit for this bernoulli based suction if theory meets reality.

I have a frame rail butterfly kit so am considering these sorts of things but do track is enough to warrant a whooping wing so wondering if i can tune it "gently" with these sorts of things.

Sorry in advance for the picture quote, but I'm quoting an old post so thought the picture was needed as a reminder.
jpreston, do you (or anyone else running a setup like this) run PAS with a tongue mount splitter. While it looks very strong, I'm concerned about it moving vertically and damaging the PAS pipes.
I know this setup doesn't look as impressive as the beautiful fab work you guys have put into your setups, but it's still functionally my favorite so far. And it's super cheap and easy. The wood "tongue" is wedged into the subframe so that it stays with the car in an impact, but the wood fractures and splinters before damaging any mounting points on the chassis. Emilio uses cables instead of the metal L-brackets that I made and I like that idea even better. My next splitter will be this same thing but with cables.

I suspect that car runs MUCH lower ground clearance which will enable the undertray rake to have significant influence and is probably designed with considerable CFD and/or wind tunnel.
The suspension movement is probably significantly less than what we run further controlling the ground effect. The strakes also help with controlling and retaining the low pressure zone, that tongue is also doing something beyond to influence.....all part of a much broader package.
I wouldn't say it won't work but it is unlikely to have much if any influence IMO.
What is interesting is the thickness of the leading edge...I suspect we could learn from that.
