Its for heat evacuation. Heat's shoved in the front, through your awesome ducting, through your awesome radiator, then it sits in the engine bay, eventually finding it's way past the engine, below the firewall, and out past the transmission and exhaust somewhere.
The extraction vents are hopefully placed in a lower pressure zone of the hood, meaning the aero over the vents "suck" the heat out directly after it's past through the radiator.
That's a layman's explanation anyways, bottom line is it works.

(The extraction vents are hopefully placed in a lower pressure zone of the hood) when i first saw them thats what I thought there's no way to know if where they are located will help heat/ air expulsion, there is, was a guy on here that put on, what to me looked like the most useful vents ive ever seen

TBH I'm surprised the whatever sanctioning body he's under allows it to be so far back. Most require a wing not extend rearward past the body.

Has anyone ever quantified all this extra aero with lap times, seat of the pants feel..eg: I can now take so and so corner with 300 more revs/ a higher gear, I can brake 30 m later than I used to previously..... etc...
All this aero fascinates and tempts me but it's hard to know to go to the extra effort, cost and drama if it is only for minimal gains....

No aero: Car is balanced
Just a splitter: over 50mph the car oversteers like crazy
Splitter and wing: car is balanced again

Dual element wings like the one on that car are for high downforce, and should be used on low speed tracks. He could try removing the second element/top wing part. I think aero is something you have to balance out. So get as much on the front, then adjust the rear to suit.
Lowering made the front work much better so the initial wing setup made it balanced (cut 2 secs on a one minute track right away).

The only aero mod I have done is purchase my hard top a few months back. My inspiration come from this. I so want to build those sail panels for my hard top. Also the electric fans pulling air from under the car, and the hood, and, and, and, ---- it I really just want that car.
