I'm noticing ignition values that don't make sense to me.
Below for example shows
Ign 16.2*
MAP 150kpa
RPM 4637
Nowhere in that area on my timing map do I have 16.2*. The 4 neighbouring cells in that area are only 20.6, 21.6, 18.0, 18.8. How does the Adaptronic log show 16.2* ? It looks like it was between a shift, but shouldn't the RPM and Ignition log capture have been within possible values that are on my map? Is it just due to CPU delay?

Do you guys tune your map so that there is 0 knock? I have a discrepancy between a number of logs at the same Load x RPM cell. A couple logs show knock, and another set shows no knock. My spark plugs show no signs of detonation. I hate these discrepancies.
Which one is more right and how long after detonation will the evidence be visible on the spark plug?

You might want to ask about reading spark plugs for detonation in another thread outside the adaptronic section...
Knock sensors don't just measure knock. They capture all of the engine noise. They are tuned to the range where knock occurs usually but there is still a lot of background noise. The default knock profile will need some tweaking for your car to set the background correctly.
