Adaptronic Updates, Boundary Updates, Vendor Updates!
Hey guys,
Long time no big updates here, thought it was time.
Boundary Engineering Website, new, newer, now the newest!
There is a new Boundary Website up. Just completed today. I've got some more work to do on it to "unstretch" the pictures but its there. www.boundaryengineering.com
Boundary Engineering Forums
Also we've supplied forums on the website as well so you can get on and ask questions about the Adaptronic and our products. There is also a product suggestion section on the website. This doesn't have to be necessarily car parts, and so long as you don't ask for anything that requires me to build complex circuit boards you won't get anything thrown at you . We have a full range of engineering equipment, laser cutters, CNC machines, and some remaining composites contacts for a wide variety of products we can create. So keep us in mind.
Boundary Engineering Order Control
We've also changed how orders are processed and how we get things out to customers. We're using quicken now and that should be much more streamlined. I know a couple of customers were confused on when their products were shipped and so fourth, from now on everyone will get tracking numbers and updates save those that choose USPS for international delivery. Things get just weird when using USPS for that... The joys of shipping overseas, and even over borders.
Price changes
The price for the Adaptronics have changed. This is good for those of you who made be reselling your adaptronic as you move onto a V8 or back to stock, but for those of you yet to purchase I understand it can be disappointing. This move was an effort to stabilize prices between the US and Australia. Because of how whacky the currency exchange rates has gotten we were selling units to guys in Australia, charging them for shipping, and they still ended up spending much less then they would have if they bought it in Australia. For this reason we have been mandated to update and stay on top of the currency exchange rate each month. I would not expect massive fluctuations in retail price from its current point but it could float by 50 to 60 dollars.
In response to this though we are adding more Adaptronic vendors so that we can supply more technical support on the whole. There are currently 3 other locations in the United States.

Each one of these vendors should be able to very easily dyno tune your vehicle and get you on the way! There is also on very large Miata vendor that should soon be on the Adaptronic band wagon as well. I'll let them announce their own entrance when its ready, but this will again increase the amount of technical support available to everyone!
The Firmware Updates
New WARI version planned 5.000 which will include an option to select Americana units. The good old pound, mph, F*, PSI and In/Hg. They also did some more things to make the code more robust.
VVT Idle Problems
The VVT idle problems that were intermittent with the 01-05 have been completely fixed! The diodes that were not strong enough were indeed the problem with the IAC valve going on the fritz. We have 01-05 supercharged, turbocharged, and naturally aspirated cars all running the Adaptronic PNP loom without a single instance of untuneable idle syndrome. Thanks to everyone for their patience while we sorted it out.
New 800CC Injector Maps
Deastchwerks has been kind enough to provide me with a set of test 800CC injectors for me to evaluate. I will be releasing basemaps for these injectors in the next week to week and a half. They are also planning on a larger 1000CC. For your guys thinking about running ethanol these injectors may indeed be the way to lean idle, and 350+whp capability.
New Installation Manuals and Revised Base Maps
The new installation manuals and revised base maps are finally finished. With great gratitude I thank every single one of you who contributed information on WT sensors, IAT sensors, fuel maps, spark maps, coolant enrichment maps, and installation tips. I will be updating the link on the website tonight. Check them out!
Also if you have good maps please send them to me or post them here along with your cars details. I'm still collecting so that they can be included in the database and your fellow turbocharged Miata guys can hit the ground running with more and better base maps.
I think thats about it!

I got excited for a minute. But I just went on rratedperformance's site and it looks like they only work with watercraft and jetboats.
Also which maps were revised? A few of them look the same with the old firmware.
I would send you my map but I still have a lot of issues here and there that I wouldn't want to hand out to everyone else. My summer vacation starts next week so I'll be dedicating the whole summer on getting this thing to idle and crank as close to stock as possible.

So for you NB 99-00 guys, are the idle settings in Travis' latest map working for you? My idle is OK but not stellar. So I am thinking of re-baselining using Travis' idle values, closed and open loop, then tweaking from there.

I had trouble finding it too. FWIW there is a zip file in the Adaptronic/Miata section of the engine management area. I downloaded that and it had base maps in it sorted by year. I'm guessing those are the latest?

From talking to him recently, I don't think he updated the site yet.
About the idle settings - I'm not sure which tune you are using, but mine is ok. My idle is set to around 65 and the PID is 2-5-2. I need to up hot idle a little though. It usually will drop to ~500 then recover. It might just be calm down effort, or it might be base idle. Not sure yet. It does run well enough to drive daily. I've already put about 2000 miles on this tune
