Wire wheels = excellent brake cooling?

Wire wheels = excellent brake cooling?
Whatever. I mentioned in another thread that when I got to 10 posts I'd put up a picture of my wheels. I got called on it when I hit 13 posts. With this I feel like somebody called me on my dare to lick the frozen flagpole on the playground. Goddamn shameful exercise on this forum. Here goes:
By the way for you chrome haters the spokes aren't chrome they are solid drawn stainless. So you can't say "your wheels suck" with the kind of accuracy you would hope for out of your lap timer you have to say "the rim portion of your wheels are chrome and this is offensive to me because it isn't race oriented". I am sure you guys need suggestions about what to say about this so I'm glad to help out.
Full disclosure, I've had these for 20 years now so there ain't **** you are going to say that I haven't heard already even the performance pukes on m.net hate them even more than I hate the color BRG on a Miata. FWIW just pulled the trigger on some 15x7.5 6UL's in Silver and will mount up some 195/50 star specs. It will be fun to have light wheels, proper offset, good grip after all these years.

Yeah they don't look terrible. At least those look like 15's lol. I was expecting you to be rocking some 18's or some XXRs or something from the hype you built up. But hey, everyone goes through phases. Did you buy the car like that?

Kudos. Couldn't have thought of funnier or better
Well that's generous thanks. They're 14's. I bought the car brand new 20 years ago and slowly pecked away at mods, the wires have been there for 19 of those years.
They offer a 7 lb. weight savings compared to a 50 lb wheel and tire combo. You might think 'big deal' but 7 lbs per corner is a lot.

Its not even the "chrome" or SS, its the fact that they remind me of mexiflush trucks.
And before you say wheels like these were popular back in "some" day, I will go ahead and say it ain't those days anymore. But props for nostalgia!

They's heavy fo sho. You would have to try hard to find a heavier wheel and tire combo. The supercharger pushes them around fine in terms of axle ration and breaking. No problems with balance or vibration once I mounted them with some Michelins and did a Hunter road force balance. Even the 65mph shimmy is gone with quality tires. So they are round as can be, don't leak air, don't vibrate, after 20 years. Hard to imagine I know.
The car is a retro build but not JDM hellaflush retro or whatever everyone else is doing its mid fifties to mid sixties sports car retro when some sports cars came with and were raced at Lemans with wire wheels. This shot shows the idea better
It's not Miataturbo's cup of tea but neither are street cars with superchargers. Given its a garage queen street car with a supercharger and wire wheels it shouldn't be too hard to imagine why my username is what it is. If this were a forum for non-racers with heavy *** wheels and other bling mods I would have chosen "oneofyall" or similar, just being honest.

None intended I'm excited about the 6UL's. I bought a set of Star Specs to go with them ($40 rebate right now if you didn't hear already). Really pumped about the 6uls, its cool to think there is a guy out there who stuck his neck out and made a wheel just for our cars. Good offset, light. I bought five. They will be my next "lifer" wheel. Hopefully the Specs are round and will balance OK, no tread separation in 3k miles, etc to spoil the 6UL experience.
