Speaking of Marine motors, a little known fact about the original C4-ZR1 LT5 engine is it was designed and assembled by Mercury Marine in Stillwater OK. Cylinder heads were designed by lotus, even..
About 5 years ago I was standing in line at a GMPP counter when I spied 2 crated up LT5s sitting just inside of the parts warehouse. Inquired about their cost and was told both were already sold at $20k each. Supposedly was the last few brand new motors left.

It has potential because the LS has potential. Cost is irrelevant to their target demographic.
One of the coolest engines IMHO. $20k seems real cheap!
GM does still make a DOHC V8 with the Northstar. Not sure why you never see those used in swaps, hot rods, etc.

Helped an old man up the street put a Northstar in a Fiero 7 years ago. Problem with using that motor at that time was obviously no aftermarket for swaps. A 1995 Northstar powered DTS uses the PCM to control every aspect of the car -- Wouldn't be surprised if the seat heaters were computer controlled. He drove the doner car and it ran like a top. Pulled the motor and most of the wiring harness. Never ran again. Best we could figure it was something to do with VATS and I didn't have enough electrical knowledge at the time to solve / bypass the issue.
Fastforward several years and this comes along:
Aftermarket plug and play Northstar V8 harness! ($750)
The factory DTS harness was such a clusterfuck that after 60 hours work and the help of a Cadillac mechanic we gave up. Sad, I wanted to drive that car.

Typically, the exhaust enters the EWG from the "bottom" (the port which is opposite the canister) and exits through the side.
