1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata - $7000
Category: Import
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata for sale, in USA - Washington.
Mileage: 119,500 miles
Asking price is $7000
Hey guys, I am considering selling my turbo Miata. I had/have big plans for track use for this rig but I'm in the middle of trying to buy my first home and the Miata has taken the back burner. I don't have a place to keep it where I live now so it stays locked up safe at my parents and I drive it on the weekends that I visit them. I just don't have the time to invest into making it exactly how I want and my free time is becoming more and more scarce lately.
The car is in good shape, it has 119,500 miles on it, no rust. I am the 3rd owner and the car has been turbo for about 10,000 miles now without issue. The previous owner built the kit. He works for Boeing as a machinist and fabricator.
It is built around a T-25 DSM turbo. Which is a very good match for the 1.8l It makes boost with very little lag and pulls hard. It currently runs 13psi with safe A/F ratios and conservative timing. I have not dynoed the car but I would imagine that it is between 220-230whp.
Here is a mod list. I know I am forgetting some things.
Exterior
-Garage Vary Replica Lip
-Rolled Fenders w. SLIGHT pull done right with a roller.
-Debadged, holes still there
-Paint Matched OEM hardtop (w/ headliner+defrost and pigtail)
-NRG Extended Lugs and Gorilla locking lugs
-Great Condition Soft top w/ plastic window
-Rennenmetal Hard top brackets(not installed)
Drivetrain
-Raceland one piece coilovers(on the short list of parts that need to be replaced, these are the previous owners fault.)
-15x8 +20 Konig Wideopen 12.9lbs each with hub-centric rings
-205/50/15 Bridgestone Potenza RE-01A tires 5000 miles. 90%
-Shifter rebuilt with all OEM parts and new rubber boots.
-Short shifter installed. Nice crisp shifts
-Car has a performance alignment. -2.5f -2.2r camber 0 toe all around and 4.5* caster
Interior
-Nardi Personal steering wheel 350mm
-Sparco sprint seat direct mount, no sliders. I am 6'2" and fit great. If you were 5'9" or below it probably would be too far back. Seat is old and worn. I don't have the stock drivers seat.
-G force 4 pt cam lock harness with 5th pt included
-Hard dog hard core double diagonal Roll bar
-Hard dog factory roll bar padding with leather cover
-NRG Hub with quick release and lock
-Kenwood stereo
-Autometer Gauge pod
-Depo racing boost gauge with peak recall and warning
-Aem UEGO Wideband 02 system wired into the LINK ECU
-Wink Mirror, have oem mirror and visors
-Kenwood 6.5" upgraded door speakers.
Engine
-New Gates timing belt kit at 115,000m
-New Competition stiff motor mounts
-Garrett T25 (from an eclipse GSX)
-Home made turbo exhaust manifold, intercooler piping
-2.5" Turbo back exhaust with Borla Muffler. Sounds great.
K&N Air filter. (Not pictured)
-Tial 38mm Wastegate w/ 8 Psi spring (plumbed into exhaust
pipe) Has a leak currently.
-Tial Super Q BOV
-Double row aluminum radiator w/2 12" fans on OEM control
-BEGI coolant re-route with Stant thermostat
-Stant 16psi rad cap
-Hallman Ceramic ball manual boost controller with remote cockpit control
-Link ECU w/ keypad, IAT sensor, MAP sensor and Knock sensors
-Flyin' Miata Level 1 Clutch kit (rated up to 318 ft/lbs)
-Front Mount Intercooler (intake temps have been 8-10*C with cool weather lately)
-KAAZ 1.5 Way Clutch Type Rear differential (set for 66% lock, can also be -changed to 33% or 100%)One of the best parts of the car.
-OEM Front Strut Brace from JDM Eunos Roadster
Overall this is a really great car. It needs a couple small things. *FULL DISCLOSURE*
-Intercooler hot side pipe needs to be relocated. I have the Flying Miata silicone pipe to replace it. The tire rubs on the currently setup and full lock right turn.
-The exhaust leak needs to be addressed. I can do this in a few hours with my welder if you want. I just haven't gotten around to it.
-Starter is intermittent. I threw a Schucks one in it and it still does it. I have been meaning to get an OEM starter and have a ALT/Starter shop rebuild it. Sometimes you have to bump the key a few times. It has never failed to start. I took it to a track day like this without a hitch.
-It needs to have proper suspension. The Raceland coilovers beyond suck on the street. They surprised me greatly and actually did pretty well at car control at Bremerton Raceway. I have been keeping my eyes open for some Tein Flexs but I wasn't sure I was going to keep the car.
-There is a small chip on the rear of the hardtop toward the trunk. Not a big deal
-There is a scuff on the rear bumper from the previous owner.
-Scrape on the lower rear rocker panel with a paint chip.
-I went with Mobil 1 on the last oil change and it seems to burn a bit. I would go back to a 10w-40 Castrol which it liked better.
The paint on the car is actually in really great shape. She shines up nice and is a very clean car. This little rig is the most fun car I have ever had. Drives like a champ and I really don't want to get rid of it but it makes more sense for me right now.

Exhaust leak, IC pipe rub will be fixed this weekend along with a new 14b turbo with 7cm housing and a full 3" exhaust with vbands and magnaflow muffler. The price will likely go up a bit. I'll post some pictures

The car is no longer for sale. I sold my truck so this is my only vehicle now. Bought some Tein Flex coilovers and did all the exhaust work and new turbo. Going to hang on to it for a while.
