1990 Mazda Miata - $5500
Category: Import
Status: Clean Title
I have a 1990 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - North Carolina.
Mileage: 133000 miles
Engine Size: 1.6L
Asking price is $5500
The car was built to be run on a road course (VIR) by an instructor/time-trial participant familiar with the demands that it places on a car to hold up to 30 minutes of being driven at full bore having spent a lot of time reading about all the problems folks have tracking a Miata that is not modified properly and engineering the modifications to it to cope with them.
To that point:
Custom VMount intercooler and the biggest and thickest domestic V8 radiator that could be fit in the engine bay for maximum cooling. Starion intercooler modified to fit VMIC configuration. Coolant reroute and custom plumbing done as well. You can even install the A/C and it will still run cool (the VMIC engineering copied and scaled for a Miata from my RX-7 turbo which barely gets warm and are notorious for cooling issues).
133k on chassis
VLSD
Koni GC/Coilover setup
RB sway bar (brace available, not installed)
Built 1.6L motor, head work, cams
Quality DIY turbo manifold made of thick walled SS tubing
Small T3 turbo, spools up very quickly but still has room to grow in terms of power
Custom VMIC configuration IC and radiator
Megasquirt with v3 PCB
550cc RX7 injectors, high impedance
Upgraded Walbro fuel pump
BSP Candoo exhaust
"Test pipe" and high flow cat
Manual rack installed
Manual mirrors
15x6.5" RS Limited wheels, Toyo 195/50/15
Sparco racing wheel in lieu of stock airbag
Stock seats
Hard top (paint chip in one place, though)
Blitz BOV
Oil filter relocated to firewall for very easy service and larger size filter than stock
Custom single larger oil cooler from FD3S RX-7 mounted in fender well (with integrated thermostat)
No soft top currently installed
A/C can be reinstalled with some minor A/C fittings and parts that I accumulated since it was bought without A/C
1990 Factory Service Manual
No radio - aluminum gauge cluster but Sony Xplod speakers present in doors and can wire an amp + iPod or stock radio if you wish
The bad:
Crack in rear finish panel (have a black one in good condition negotiable to include)
Rear wheel wells were cut out by prior owner to deal with the rust issues (left had a side exhaust at one point)
