Default 1990 Mazda Miata - $4500 +++PRICE DROP+++

I have an early production 1990 Mazda Miata for sale, in USA - Colorado.

Price is $4500

Pricing update and options:
Asking $4500 for car as built.

subtract $200 returned to stock suspension
subtract $500 without rollbar
subtract $800 without hardtop

(With the above items removed, you could have this car for as little as $3000!)

Never thought the time would come that I'd be putting my baby up for sale but alas it's time for her to go to a new home. I've been building this car for a while focusing on creating a well-braced chassis with perfect mechanical reliability. Built as a driver's car yet never thrashed - I've only taken it to the rev-limiter once in two years of driving, just to see if it worked. Buyer will have options: Torsen I, late NA bracing, new stainless exhaust, 4-2-1 headers, etc. Please scroll to the end of the ad for pics and pricing details.

Here are the specs:

Early 1990 NA B-package Miata with hardtop and original soft top (shiny latches!).
123K orig. miles as of 11/6/12
Clear Colorado title in my name

Chassis:
Hard Dog Spec Miata roll bar
Static Nine frame rails
Front lower control arm brace
Three-bolt shock tower brace

Mechanical:
Original 1.6L with new timing belt, water pump, seals, crank key and bolt.
Tune up within 3K miles with NGK wires, NGK plugs, filters, belts, etc
5-sp. running Redline synthetic shifts perfectly
K+N air filter
I am a professional mechanic and this is my personal car.

Suspension/Brakes:
Raceland coilovers with approx 2K miles
Nice aggressive alignment
1.8L NA brake upgrade
New performance brake pads front and rear (less than 50 miles)
New stainless Steel brake lines
True hollow-spoke Miata rims
Falken 512's with less than 1K miles

Interior and Exterior:
NB steering wheel and air bag
Viper 5901 2-way paging alarm w/ proximity sensor
Weighted leather shift **** for extra smooth gear changes
Custom tailored cloth seat covers
Sony stereo with CD and aux input
Upgraded headrest and door speakers
Original soft top in good shape: one 1/4 inch flaw
Original plastic window in great shape
Original boot cover in good shape.
Original gauge hood in good shape
Original carpet and panels in excellent shape
No body rust: ever
Cruise control
Air conditioning
Power steering

Power windows
Remote door locks
Remote trunk open
White face luminescent gauges
Shorty Antenna
Black HoDe grille
Grace HoDe sound deadening thoughout car

Red repaint (never in accident) is less than two-years old but is a fair job. Looks good from 5 feet but closer inspection reveals orange peel and overspray. The car was never wetsanded so most of this will come out. A couple rock chips in the front bumper a few scratches here and there. Slight flaw on pass fender. (see pics)

Quirks: +/- five drops of oil on garage floor after a hard run. Clutch switch needs cleaning (every once in a while the car takes turning the key a couple times. Click-click-vroom). Car is sitting in a low stance. I can set the car at whatever height the buyer wishes, but with height adjust comes the need for a re-alignment.

I would trust this car to drive anywhere. Reliable doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm setting my asking price $2K+ below what I have into the car: asking $4500. Located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Delivery could be discussed.

Please ask any and all questions that come up. I can take detailed pictures of any part of the car you may have questions about. Locals are encouraged to come check it out and test drive.

Options:
Complete Torsen I conversion from a 1994 1.8L Miata: Diff, carrier, axles, driveshaft: add $800 installed w/Mobil1 synthetic
Complete rear '96 NA subframe with chassis braces and hardware: add $125 -- can install with Torsen I
Pacemaker 1.6L headers, new in box: add $100
Cobalt stainless cat back exhaust, new, never installed: add $250

Nice car, simple and clean. The pricing is kind of confusing though.

Thanks for the compliment and the heads up about pricing confusion. Here's the rub:
Asking $4900 for the car as built now

I have the following uninstalled parts that can be negotiated into the sale:
$700 for Torsen swap, $800 installed
$125 for '96 NA rear subframe and bracing
$250 Cobalt stainless steel cat-back exhaust
$100 for Stainless 4-2-1 headers

Hope that makes it a little clearer.

Thanks for all the questions about the car that have been coming in. I'll respond to them here publicly in order to give everyone more details.

++ I do still have the stock suspension and can re-install it at buyers request. I'll knock $100 off the asking price if someone wants to go that direction. Keep in mind the alignment was done for this ride height, so an alignment would be necessary.

++ The car is running the stock 1.6L radiator. As seen in the engine pic, I installed a panel (don't remember what brand) between the rad support and the radiator. This eliminates the air gap and forces all the incoming air through the radiator. I've driven the car through the local mountain passes at 10K+ feet with no cooling issues.

++ A lot of interest in the roll bar. It is the rear section of a Hard Dog Spec Miata cage. It comes with High density SFI-approved padding and a nice vinyl cover. I don't want to sell the roll bar separately from the car at this time. If someone wants to buy the car without the roll bar, I'll knock $500 off asking price. (It's a very nice bar.)

Thanks for the questions and keep 'em coming. I really want this car to go to a good home.
